We’re a social enterprise sharing money saving offers, bulk buy deals and group purchasing with our Community Buying Group Members
in Tywardreath, Cornwall and the local area.
This is a social enterprise, it is part of a hub of micro businesses run by local enterprising people in Tywardreath, Cornwall to improve the local economy and well-being of residents.
By combining our purchasing with CBG members it improves our small business buying power, saves us money and helps us make a profit to reinvest in our community activities.
We purchase a lot of products in bulk and share the orders with local businesses. Our Community Buying Group manager will negotiate discounts and order bulk purchases on behalf of multiple local households and the hub of social ventures we operate.
It costs £50 a year to be a member of the scheme. We will give free membership to local people who are socially isolated, unemployed or unable to work due to disability or illness.
We launched this venture in April 2016 and are operating a pilot scheme with 200+ registered members who live in the local area, the majority are residents of Tywardreath within walking distance from our premises in the village.
The full scheme will start when we take over running the village shop and a B&B/cafe this Summer. You can read more about our plans on www.tywardreath.co.uk
Our community buying group will help us keep the price of basic grocery and household items affordable in our shop. The CBG members will be able to access further discounts and special offers in our shop to help those who don’t have the need or storage space to buy in bulk.
